Our story began in college, with a passion for music that kept us interested in playing This led us to join Inner Anvil Ministries, a nonprofit with a branch called Music and Mission. Inner Anvil gave us the resources and connections to develop as a band, a journey that would ultimately allow us to start doing gigs of our own.

We spent two summers touring the West Coast, first as Rapport and then as Uncharted, performing in churches, bars, and festivals. Our minds were opened to the vast potential of music to connect with people from all walks of life. We learned how to be a compelling band, but more importantly, we discovered that music is a universal language of connection and belonging.

It was during this time that we started to challenge our understanding of the status quo. We began rewriting songs, exploring new musical styles, and stretching our abilities. This journey showed us that spirituality and art are not mutually exclusive; they can come together to create something truly bold and beautiful. Our time with Inner Anvil was a foundational experience, shaping our vision and leading us to the mission of Open: to create music that inspires thought, sparks connection, and builds a sense of belonging for everyone.
